– not just another consultancy!!
Getting
any new business idea off the ground is never an easy
thing to do. Prior to starting Music with Mummy I was
just a mum who wanted to spend as much time with my
little girl as possible but having a desire to build
and achieve something on my own. I was pretty sure I
knew what I wanted and I thought I knew how I was going
to achieve it. Very soon into my new venture there came
the realisation that if I were to go forward I would
have to seek some sound business advice from an outsider
if I was to avoid allowing myself to fall into the trap
of running around “fire fighting” whilst all the time
loosing contact with that all important customer base
that I'd worked so hard to build up.

Consulting was recommended to me by my previous boss,
who was also running a successful company. Having contacted
Andy Luffman, an appointment was made for a time that
fitted around my commitments so as not to disrupt my
day any more than was necessary. It was wasn't long
into that initial consultation that I started to feel
at ease and that the questions I had scribbled down
were not as silly as I feared and that here was a company
who genuinely wanted to help me to succeed.
The
language spoken was one that I could understand, not
just long words or silly abbreviations. I quickly realised
that Andy had a really good understanding of what will
make a business successful and that if I were to grow
my business then SCIO Consulting were going to be the
ones to help me get there.
Andy
spent some considerable time going through all the key
components I would need to have in place to make things
work smoothly as well as helping me to formalize my
goals and objectives into a plan for success.
Nearly
three years on and my business is still going from strength
to strength. I still keep in close contact with Andy
. His advice and enthusiasm is as focused today as it
was right back at the start. Both he and Cathy show
a genuine personal interest and a feeling that my success
is their success. I cannot thank all at SCIO Consulting
enough for their continuing support and guidance in
helping me achieve and surpass the targets I had set
myself.
I
guess I must be doing something right as I now have
the pleasure of his little girl in one of my classes,
so maybe in some small way I can help shape the way
his daughter grows too.
