Strategy
This
is done using a proven process, developed from experience
with both Small to Medium Enterprises and
large corporations, which is flexible enough to adapt
to each situation.
Turnaround
time is usually around 5 days. However, a brief session
of just a few hours has been valuable to previous clients.
We prefer to work with you over a longer period to ensure
successful execution of the strategy.
We have developed a unique methodology that combines
standard DTI approved models (Forum 21 and Foresight)
and our own experience with over 250 businesses over
40 manyears. We use this to gain a full understanding
of the business, its aims, potential and issues. This
will generate the primary list of actions and activity
to get the business going where you want it to go. We
then work with you to make you understand the importance
of these, the impact on your current business and then
put a plan together that fits your needs.

Plans
Business
Plans and cashflow forecasts are often done to satisfy
the bank or other funder when you are looking to raise
money. Everyone should have a plan for themselves, you
satisfy YOURSELF before anyone else that the business
is right and going in the right direction. Everyone
that invests wants to make sure it is worthwhile, you
invest time and money and you probably hope that for
returns are greater than the bank hope for. Even getting
a grant shoudl ionvolve a return for the funder, if
it is the government, this measn that you employ more
people and pay more VAT, PAYE and National Insurance.
The Scio team have written plans that have supported
the raising of over £250,000 in grants as well
as helping people get their head out of their business
and started running their business and stopped letting
it run them.

We
were proud of our feedback that showed that all but
one person (who we think was in the wrong room) thought
that the material was first class and would be using
it in their business.

Benchmarking
allows you to know where you stand relative to your
competition. A wide range of performance indicators
are compared with your competitors, showing you where
you are good and also where they have an advantage over
you. Use this information to help you compete
better. The Scio team will analyse the results
and help you to understand the implications. See www.BenchMarkIndex.com
for more detail.

Modelling
If
you really want to know what the future looks like,
you need to model your business mathematically. It will
help you identify the key drivers of your business,
when you need cash, when you need people, what they
need to be doing. We have put together a model to help
decide whether a £20 Million investment was right
and help a new start business gety finance and negotiate
with a key customer, resulting in favourable terms to
BOTH parties, a true WIN WIN. See
Case Studies.
Some
of things you need to consider:-

We
will then work this into a sophisticated model in Excel
that YOU can play with. By experimenting with IN A SAFE
ENVIRONMENT, you can try things out. Is this the best
computer game you could wish for? You can try your future,
RIXK FREE. Of course, a model will never capture everything
in the real world, but it will give you an well informed
idea of the impact of your decisions.
The
following picture shows the things that were taken into
account when supporting a major logistics company.
They
could change there marketing effort, product growth
rates and the pricing policy. Around the base case,
they could test what would happen if product 1 was 6
months late to market and see the impact on their cashflow
and profitability, number of employees required, instantly.

One
of our Case Studies shows
a similar development for a start-up manufacturer which
took less than week to put together.
